St. Brendan's - a beautiful and atmospheric church set beside Wolfe Tone Square in the heart of Bantry - was built in 1818, and named for St. Brendan, who was the first European person to reach America.

The gothic-style Church of Ireland building, designed by Henry Edward Kendall, makes an atmospheric setting for West Cork Music concerts, and forms the backdrop for many of the West Cork Chamber Music Festivals broacast on Lyric fm and across the European Broadcasting Union.
