VANBRUGH & FRIENDS – A SUMMER GALA CONCERT

The Vanbrugh – violinist Keith Pascoe, violist Simon Aspell and cellist Christopher Marwood, former members of the celebrated Vanbrugh Quartet  – will be joined by a stellar line-up of Cork-connected musicians including pianist Anna Jansson and Irish Chamber Orchestra leader Katherine Hunka’s Solas Quartet, for a celebratory summer gala concert in support of the work of the National String Quartet Foundation.

The concert, introduced by Lyric FM’s Evelyn Grant, will include Tchaikovsky’s string sextet ‘Souvenir de Florence’ and the first movement of Schubert’s ‘Trout’ Quintet, performed by the sensational young Cork pianist Anna Jansson, with the Vanbrugh.

The Solas Quartet will play music by Boccherini, Mendelssohn and Jessie Montgomery and the concert will also feature performances by the exciting young Evergreen Quartet from MTU Cork School of Music and by the extraordinary Yershovy Sisters from Odessa, Ukraine, but now living in Kerry.
