Aiden O’Reilly lived for nine years in Eastern Europe and is now based mainly in Dublin. He studied mathematics, and has worked as translator, building-site worker, mathematics lecturer and property magazine editor. His fiction has appeared in The Stinging Fly, The Dublin Review, Irish Times, Prairie Schooner, 3am magazine and in Unthology 4 and several other anthologies. His plays have been given staged readings at Triskel Arts Centre in Cork, and in Dublin. He won the biannual McLaverty Short Story Award in 2008. He received a bursary from the Arts Council in 2012. His debut short story collection Greetings, Hero was published in November 2014.
