8. Coffee Concert
The day opens with an unusual Scandinavian ensemble of four virtuoso recorder players whose arrangements of Baroque and folk they call Borrowed not Stolen. The four players come from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Ireland, coming together during their studies at Stockholm’s Royal College of Music with the plan to overcome the age-old image of the recorder as merely a stepping stone to another instrument. Expect unusual sounds and lively music.
