Bach and the Birds
A special programme designed for children and families.
The four virtuoso players of Woodpeckers present an exciting, choreographed presentation of music written for the recorder spanning over 600 years, from the 15th to the 21st century. Throughout the concert, their young audience will get the chance to hear and see many different sizes of recorders at close range. Their aim is to inspire and ignite curiosity in our audience, giving them a long-lasting joy of live music. The programme is presented without spoken word, where the instruments and music weave a story of conflict, friendship & reconciliation through improvisation and carefully chosen works. Modern music inspired by birds and bird sounds are mixed with old folk tunes, and of course everyone's favourite Baroque composers Bach and Vivaldi make an appearance.
