Ritual: Exhibition (All week: Sat to Fri)

Cork-born visual artist Siobhán Rea has been making a 10cm square drawing daily at 08:30am since 1997 and they are uploaded daily to her Instagram page 0830ritual. An exhibition of her work, Ritual, takes place in the Mizen room of the Maritime Hotel from Saturday 13 to Friday 19 July.

Recently, Siobhán undertook a collaboration with Cork writer Danielle McLaughlin where Danielle wrote a novella in response to the 08:30 ritual drawings for January-March 2023. Siobhán in turn responded to the novella by way of a number of larger art works in a variety of media.

Against the backdrop of this exhibited art, Siobhán and Danielle will discuss their collaboration in a free event on Monday 15 July at 2.30pm
