Do what you can with what you have. Nothing more is needed and there are no excuses- Rick Rubin
Join writer Sarah Byrne on a mobile workshop in Bantry House Gardens. Sarah has prepared five writing prompts for this session inspired directly by the structure of the gardens. How might we build a character, suspense or different viewpoints in our work? This writing tour includes a conversation with Bantry House owner, Brigitte Shelswell-White as well as visits to sites particular to Sarah’s current writing project, Paper Kinder. This workshop is about honouring creative intentions, the present moment and reflecting on our evolving connection to nature through movement and rest.
Testimony from a previous workshop participant:
“I have taken other workshops with Sarah Byrne and the Well Review; the most recent titled, ‘Misbehaving Bodies: Schools’ (2023). As I’d come to expect, the format of each workshop was well designed and structured, with the focus on the lived and learning experience of the participants. The use of diverse, enriching materials, writing exercises, guidance on craft, editorial feedback is a testament to Sarah Byrne and the Well Review’s commitment to the creative art of writing. The combination of reflection and active writing as well as the communal and collaborative aspect of the workshops has been invaluable.”
Sarah Byrne writes, teaches and edits for a living. She lives between France and Ireland and her work has appeared in The Irish Times, The New Statesman and Poetry Ireland...
