48. Crespo Series

This recital was one of the many Covid casualties at the ’22 Festival. It was typical of Bach’s spirit that he could rise to the challenge of making solo instruments out of the harpsichord and viola da gamba, whose normal role was to provide basso continuo accompaniment in the Baroque ensemble. These gorgeous sonatas fairly leap off the page bursting with joie de vivre. We are privileged to have the opportunity to hear this music in its original form.
