64. Coffee Concert

This recital brings together for the first time two outstanding young musicians, both familiar to audiences who watched the virtual Festivals over the last two years. Rachmaninov’s Sonata is one of the great challenges for cellists, especially young cellists. It was a break-out work for the composer who had lost all confidence after the disastrous premiere of his First Symphony. He was also in love, which can be heard in every bar.
