3. Coffee Concert

Signum Quartet is another top class European Quartet based in Germany. They are offering us the complete Op.20 set by Haydn. These six quartets are generally seen as the time when the new musical formation of the string quartet came of age through a bloodless but dramatic revolution. The monarchical reign of the first violin came to an end and democracy took its place. Haydn would now cultivate the spirit of give and take that lies at the heart of the classical string quartet, each player receiving a distinct identity.
