Throughout history composers have delighted in creating works that demand impossible virtuosity; some like Biber and Paganini wrote scores to demonstrate their own skills, others just liked challenging their contemporaries. Garth Knox Violin Spaces began as Viola Spaces composed for his own instrument, which he re-wrote for Diamanda Dramm, an exceptional young Dutch violinist, who brings them to life with her unique talents.
