10. Main Evening Concert

The grand old man of Irish composers, John Kinsella, sadly passed away late last year. John wrote many quartets for the Festival, we shall all miss him. Bassist Malachy Robinson plays this short piece so we can remember him. Ella van Poucke is a young Dutch cellist, brave enough to take on Chopin’s unwieldy but mesmerising Cello Sonata - With my cello sonata I am now contented, now discontented. I throw it in a corner and then pick it up again.
