- Don’t Miss Our Virtual Festival
We hope that you have been able to enjoy the early concerts of the Virtual Chamber Music Festival.
It opened on Friday with the Dudok Quartet performing Haydn, Shaw and Beethoven in Studio 150 in Amsterdam. Last night, the action moved to Chicago when Vadim Gluzman and Angela Yoffe played a programme of works by Beethoven, Vasks, Kancheli and Ravel. Haydn reappears this evening when the Signum Quartet perform his String Quartet in G major alongside works by Schulhoff, Tolstoy, Janáček and Schubert.
Between now and the end of the Virtual Festival, you can enjoy concerts performed by violinists Mairéad Hickey and Alina Ibragimova, viola player Dana Zemtsov, pianists Anna Fedorova and Alasdair Beatson, cellists Ella van Poucke and Anastasia Kobekina, Doric Quartet, Ouranos Wind Ensemble, harpsichordist
Marco Vitale and more. Among the composers featured are Mozart, Debussy, Bach, Bartok, Shnittke, Ligeti, Britten, Beethoven, Scriabin, Arnold, Bottesini and many more.
Every evening at 7pm until Sunday 5 July, we will feature one of these concerts. On the final two days you can also catch a Coffee Concert at 11am.
You might like to attend our Virtual Festival here. All concert videos can be found on this page and they can be viewed as soon as they go live.
Or you can go to the Programme page, go to the individual concerts, click on the ‘Read More …’ link and find the concert video there.
These concerts have been made possible thanks to the generosity of the Festival ticket-holders, subscribers, donors and majors donors to whom we dedicate this series. Also both Cork County Council and Failte Ireland made funds available for which we are most grateful. West Cork Music is funded by the Arts Council.
Staff are working from home due to COVID-19. However, during our Virtual Festival they are still here for you. To ensure you can contact us, our phone line (00 353 27 52788) will be manned from 11am-5pm every day during the festival. We will also be responding to emails to info@westcorkmusic.ie during those times – and out of hours. If you have any queries, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
If you would like to make a donation towards the cost of these performances, please click on the Donate button below. All donations will go directly to the musicians.
In case you missed the Opening Concert of the Virtual Chamber Music Festival, you can catch it again here or by going to the event page.
