Quynh Tran (b. 1989) grew up in Jakobstad in Finnish Ostrobothnia. He now resides in Malmö, Sweden where he works as a psychologist. Tran is a graduate of the acclaimed Biskops Arnö Writing School. His debut novel Shade and Breeze was awarded the prestigious Runeberg Prize, the Svenska Yle’s Literature Prize, and the Borås Tidning’s Debutant Prize. Shade and Breeze was translated into English by Kira Josefsson, a writer, editor, and translator working between Swedish and English whose previous work has been longlisted for the International Booker Prize and shortlisted for the Bernard Shaw Prize. The English-language translation was published by Lolli Editions in October 2024.
