Holly Hughes

Holly Hughes is an Irish poet and storyteller. She premiered her first one-woman show at Scene + Heard in 2025, was runner-up in the 2024 All Ireland Poetry Slam, and was a State Finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam 2023. Her work attempts to understand the idiosyncrasies of the world around us, swinging from hilarity to outrage at the speed of a 3 a.m. doomscroll. Inequality, oppression, ecocide, dating, patriarchy—Holly attempts to tackle it all with humour and empathy.
