Eero Haahti (*16.12.1961)

  • –  started studying cello playing at the age of five with Arto Noras
  • –  1977 made his first instrument – a cello – with the help of some books
  • –  1982-83 apprentice at Risto Vainio workshop in Helsinki
  • –  1983 at the Newark School of Violinmaking
  • –  1984-86 own workshop in Antwerp – Belgium
  • –  1987-89 apprenticeship at atelier Vatelot in Paris
  • –  1990-1993 own workshop outside Paris
  • –  since 1994 own workshop in Helsinki
  • –  working roughly half the time on new instruments and bows outside Finland and half for musicians, foundations and orchestras mostly in Finland and Scandinavia.

Main professional activities:
Working for clients on sound adjustment, playability and restoration related to violin family instruments and their bows.
Making new violins, violas, cellos, their bows, and some other instruments on occasion.
