Dr Connie Kelleher

Dr Connie Kelleher is Senior Archaeologist with the National Monuments Service, heading up the Underwater Archaeology Unit (UAU) and is also senior archaeological advisor for the World Heritage Island Site of Sceilg Mhichíl. Connie has directed many underwater projects on a variety of archaeological sites in both the marine and freshwater environments. She is visiting lecturer in underwater archaeology in University College Cork, is Secretary of ICOMOS-ICUCH (International Committee for Underwater Cultural Heritage) and board member of the international Advisory Council for Underwater Archaeology (ACUA). Connie has a broad publication record, including two books:  The Alliance of Pirates: Ireland and Atlantic Piracy in the early seventeenth century (2020) and co-authored RMS Lusitania: The Story of a Wreck (co-authored with F. Moore, K. Brady, C. McKeon & I. Lawler, 2019). Connie will take part in an event around The Coastal Atlas of Ireland to mark the 100th anniversary of Cork University Press
