Kieran began his studies at aged nine with Frederiek Biesma in Kenmare, Co. Kerry. He completed his BMus ar Cork School of Music, studying piano with Eleanor Malone and Jan Cap. Since 2010 he has studied harpsichord with Pauline McSweeney. With the Riva Quartet, he has won the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet Chamber Music Competition in 2013. Kieran has participated at the East Cork Early Music Festival and the Cork International Choral Festival. He has been a member of Ensemble Dagda since its foundation in 2015, with whom he has performed at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival.
