The Aurora Duo was established in 2012 by Katie Hyland (flute) and Fiona Gryson (harp) whilst studying at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. They have both graduated with First Class Honours from the BMus programme in DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. Most recently the duo performed in concerts and participated in masterclasses at the 2017 West Cork Chamber Music Festival and Fringe Festival. As a duo, they have availed of many of the Apprentice training programmes available in Ireland such as, The Galway Music Residency Apprentice Ensemble Programme and the KBC Great Music in Irish Houses Support Act Residency.
Fiona Gryson completed the Masters Degree in Music Performance at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. She is continuing her studies at the DIT as well as studying for a Masters in Harp at the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado, Milan.
Katie Hyland has completed her Masters at the Royal Northern College of Music, and is continuing her studies at the RNCM on the Postgraduate Diploma course.
