Evelyn Grant

Evelyn Grant presents Weekend Drive on RTÉ lyric fm.

A member of a well-known musical family from Dublin, she studied flute in Germany before taking up a post at the Cork School of Music. She has been involved in outreach projects for over 30 years, and was the first Irish person to receive a Master’s degree in Community Music (University of York).

She was awarded a PhD from University College Cork. for her research on ‘Social Inclusion in Music Education in Ireland.’ For RTE lyric fm, she researched and presented a 6-part documentary series entitled ‘Passions and Policies – Music Education in Ireland.’

She is co-founder and musical director of The Cork Pops Orchestra (www.corkpops.ie).

Her recent documentary ‘Digitising Rita’, for the Lyric Feature, has reached the finals of  the New York Festivals Radio Awards 2016.
