West Cork Music is delighted to be co-ordinating some events for Culture Night 2023 and working with artists and businesses in our community.  In the lead-up to Culture Night Pacie Grews will be facilitating a series of community macramé workshops.

These workshops are free entry in order to remove the financial barrier and are open to all ages, and suitable for beginners.

We very much wanted to make Culture Night representative of our community and remove barriers to participation.

Pre-booking is essential and materials will be supplied.

Over the course of 3 workshop dates (2 public and 1 at Bantry’s Rehab Care centre) folks will join forces to learn the basic skills of macramé and help create a huge, colourful communal garland. The piece will be displayed at @bantrylibrary_thearchitecture on Culture Night (Sept. 22nd) where you’ll be able to stop by and see which section you contributed and marvel at the creation as a whole

There are 2 workshop dates available, both of which will take place at Bantry’s coolest new creative venue @work_shop_bantry
Sept 13th / 6.30-8.30pm
Sept 14th / 10.00am-12.00pm

To follow on form this on Culture Night itself, Grace will also be co-hosting a chat on all things macramé, knots, and the links with our local maritime history. That’ll be on at 18.30 in @themarinermusicvenuebantry alongside the finest folk from @bantrybaycharters
