Paul O’Donoghue is from Bantry. For the past five years he has coordinated and hosted the Open Mike session of the West Cork Literary Festival. He earned a Master’s in journalism from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, where he worked as a wire-service and newspaper reporter covering diverse issues including politics, law and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Before entering journalism, he earned a Bachelor’s in business studies from the University of Limerick. He worked in marketing and business management with Ford Motor Company at its Australasian Corporate Headquarters in Melbourne.
In Los Angeles, Paul also worked as an editor and producer with National Public Radio affiliate KCRW, Santa Monica, on multi-award-winning current affairs programs “Which Way, L.A.?” and “To the Point,” among others.
He is a member of Bantry Writers Group.
